Michael Pilgrim

Michael Pilgrim has worked for more than two decades in senior editorial and commercial roles on British national newspapers.
Until 2015, he was Commercial Editorial Director of the Telegraph Media Group. He ran the sponsored content division, generating yearly revenues of £20 million. His clients included HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds, NatWest, Vodafone, EE, HP, Kia and Volkswagen.
Michael was editor of the award-winning Observer magazine, discovering Miranda Sawyer, Nigel Slater and Monty Don. Before that, he was an editorial executive on the Guardian, running its night news operation during some of the most momentous years in modern times. He worked in executive comms for WPP Group; and was investment editor at the Business, the weekly business magazine.
As well as occupying executive positions, Michael has written for the Times, Sunday Times, Mail On Sunday, Evening Standard and San Francisco Chronicle. He has ghostwritten for some of the biggest names in business, politics and entertainment.
He is author of the Official MBA Handbook (Pearson) and has won 12 industry awards. They include Editor of The Year from the British Society of Magazine Editors; the Newspaper Focus Editor of The Year; and the Institute For The Study of Drug Dependency’s award for responsible reporting.
